Is Your Vehicle Smarter Than You? ESC/ESP Workshops

At SKIDCAR SYSTEM, INC we have scheduled several interesting advanced DRIVER TRAINING events for September and October. The SKIDCAR SYSTEM® used primarily for skid avoidance, skid recovery or skid control lessons, will be showcased in driver training workshops exploring the use of Electronic Stability Programs or Electronic Stability Control.

We have been using this technology turned on and off with our Type B SKIDCAR™ for more than three years, and have spent many hours on the frozen lakes and roads in the North of Sweden during our own winter testing without the SKIDCAR SYSTEM® attached. ESP/ESC plays a definite role in driver safety and control. It may be the next best vehicle control component in keeping drivers safe and in control in all types of weather and road conditions.

ESP/ESC activates when the driver has made a mistake or is being overly aggressive. We know that the system works well enough to add an additional safety net for the driver making repeated mistakes. The ESP/ESC in most of today’s new vehicles (and mandated to be in all vehicles by 2012) is an onboard vehicle dynamics expert that monitors, calculates and integrates corrections on mistakes made by the driver.

Our first ESP/ESC workshop is scheduled for the A.L.E.R.T International Conference in Oklahoma City, September 13 – 15, 2010.

The second workshop will be delivered to FIREFIGHTER AND EMS DRIVERS attending FIRE SHOWS RENO in Reno, Nevada, October 25th, 2010. This event is limited to participants. Prior registration is required.
