International SKIDCAR USERS CONFERENCE
The 2010 edition of the International SKIDCAR users Conference has come to a close. 75 people from 4 Countries attended. The SKIDCAR Instructor re-certifications were great, the SKIDCAR service clinics outstanding. The presentations given from Jim Hawkins from SKID-CAR UK , Peter Bjelkedal and Rolf Bogmark representing the Swedish Driver Training Association were outstanding. Municipal, Higher Education, Law Enforcement and Fire Driver Training were all represented at the International SKIDCAR Users Conference.
For those Driver Training Instructors and curriculum experts that missed the conference the wealth of ideas and reporting on new trends should not have been missed. The miss-understanding of the driver training problem in the US is great and SKIDCAR Conference brought many ideas to the for front and everyone learned and took back with them the realization that we have a great challenge to meet the problem of better driver training.
Electronic stability control and how to teach drivers how to drive with it is going to be another hurdle for us to meet. We worked a great deal with the ESC / Stabilitrac that our Tahoe is equipped with and all were impressed that new driver training standards will have to be written.
